This excursion is ideal for individuals in good physical condition who have previous experience with mountain hiking. The total distance of the trip is around 8 kilometers, with an estimated time of 2 to 3 hours each way. The elevation gain from the starting point to the peak is 330 meters.

What you see: 

  • We take you to Base Camp  Lysefjorden from where we start the hike.
  • The trail is uphill through beautiful scenery, with vegetation, forest and bare mountain.
  • The hike is approximately 8 km long (5miles), and height difference are 330m from base camp to top of Preikestolen.
  • See one of the most desired photographic destinations in Noway: Pulpit Rock or «Preikestolen» in Norwegian, looking down to Lysefjorden.
  • We take you to some area along Lysefjorden where none or few people ever go to with view to Pulpit Rock and additional beautiful places along the fjord.
  • Depending on the speed of our hike, we take you for a bonus trip to the start of Lysefjorden, with view to Lysefjorden bridge and all the way into Lysefjorden.

What you need to take with you:

  • Closed-toed shoes only. Terrain is rocky.
  • Depending on weather and temperature, bring warm clothes, wind/waterproof jacket and extra clothes to leave in car if you need to change wet clothing coming back from hike.
